Original works in ink and metallic leaf — studies of wildlife, botanical form and the quiet compositions of traditional Japanese art. Each piece is one of one.
My work lives in the space between stillness and movement — the pause of a heron before flight, the slow unfurling of a fern.
Working almost exclusively in black and white, I use warm metallic details the way light falls in a dark room: sparingly, and only where it matters. I am not interested in photographic likeness. Each piece is an interpretation — abstract, illustrative, and shaped as much by what is left out as what is drawn. The influence of traditional Japanese art runs through the work: reverence for the natural world, flowing composition, and the discipline of restraint.
A study in patience and coiled stillness. Layered ink washes build the leopard's markings, with gold leaf catching the eye's light.
